CAMDEN, N.J.– Malik Monk is considered as the very best shooter in the 2017 draft. Do not label him as only that when he enters the NBA.
“I believe I can do both, combination, on and off the ball,” Monk stated Thursday following with his workout for the ( more on that here). “Some individuals stated I could not play off the ball when I went to Kentucky. I think I did a respectable task at that. I have actually just got to change and get in the weight space.”
Monk currently has actually worked out for the Suns (fourth pick), Magic (6th) and Knicks (eighth) prior to coming to Philadelphia on Tuesday. He hasn’t exercised for the Celtics (first) or Lakers (2nd) and does not have any other groups arranged.
When asked if he thought he could be picked third in general, Monk revealed the jolly personality he showed the whole interview.
“I think I can go one, 2, 3. I believe I can, however I’m most likely not,” he stated with a laugh. Another gamer who might get the Sixers’ attention at No. 3 is Monk’s college colleague De’Aaron Fox.
“He’s coming Saturday,” Monk said. “I speak with him every day. We do not even talk about the workouts. We simply discuss the process and what does it cost? fun we’re having.”
The Sixers will work out 6 more players on Friday in between the 2 Wildcats (see story).
